Welcome to the online rabbitry of Amick's Netherland Dwarfs. We are a relatively small rabbitry, breeding specifically Blue Eyed White (BEW) Netherland Dwarfs. I have worked very hard to obtain an amazing herd of foundation stock. They are out of top placing rabbits in the nation, and we would like to thank Lone Star's Rabbitry for all of their help getting started. I am now working very hard and selectively breeding in hopes of doing as well with our rabbits as those on their pedigrees. I believe strongly that quality is more important than quantity which is why we are keeping so few rabbits currently.
I am a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association, the American Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club, Indiana State Rabbit Breeders Association, and a director of Indiana State Dwarf Breeders Rabbit Club. Currently, I am moderator of ISDBRC club's yahoo group which acts as our website. I invite anyone who breeds and or shows netherland dwarfs to visit the group and possibly join as we are hoping to improve the club for it's members.
I had shown Netherland Dwarfs thoughout my teen years in ARBA youth shows and 4-H. I bred BEWs and Shadeds. I have always had a special place in my heart for the BEWs which is why I chose to start back up breeding them after starting my famiily. Breeding BEWs to compete nationally is challenging but well worth the wait for a win. My herd sire won BOG at Convention in 2007 which was an amazing rabbit to start out with. I had not picked him up yet and was not able to make it to convetion. I heard of his wins over the phone. I hope for the day that I can experience this accomplishment in person with a rabbit that I have bred. Until then, I thank Amber Ross for the opportunity to purchase such an amazing rabbit and to have shared that experience over the phone.
My husband and I have two boys. They are 2 and 4. I hope that someday they will have the same love that I have for the rabbits. We are all very active in the care of the rabbits which makes the them tend to be a more used to any distracting noises. (You can imagine with 2 very energetic little boys). They love to pet the rabbits and help name them and yes, even help to take care of them.
The rabbit world is full of amazing people always willing to share such experiences and to share information. If you are new to raising rabbits soak up all of this knowledge as it will help you to improve your lines and also to make the experience just that much more special. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have along the road. If I don't know the answer, I will help you find it. Also feel free to share any experiences with myself and others along the way as that is one way that we all learn.
Thank you for stoping to visit and hope that you enjoy the online rabbitry. Please sign my guestbook and feel free to share an experience if you'd like.
